Specific performance requirements from other departments that impact on the department’s performance. These expectations should be in quantifiable specific and measurable terms –

 

1.      Acquisition of Public Records: Depends upon the responses received for the transfer of records from various Ministries/ Departments.

2.      Acquisition of Private Records through Historical Documents Purchase Committee (HDPC): Depends on the proposals received from the owners of the private papers and their acceptance of the offer made by the HDPC.

3.      Acquisition of Microfilm copies of Records from Abroad: Depends on the pace and promptness of the respective archival institutions abroad in preparing microfilms of the identified material of Indian interest.

4.      Appraisal of Records: Depends on the requests received from various Ministries/Departments

5.      Vetting of Records Retention Schedule: Depends upon the no. of inspections carried out.

6.      De-classification of Classified Records:  These records are to be declassified under the provisions of Rule 7 of the Public Records Rules, 1997 by the designated Review Officers of the Records Creating Agencies of the Government of India.

7.      Compilation/ Publication of the National Register of Private Records: Subject to receipt of listed proformas from States and Union territory Archives.

8.      Grant of Financial Assistance for preservation etc. of documents/ mss and rare books: Depends on the proposals received from the eligible institutions/ individuals and the recommendation of the Grants Committee.
