On 23rd January 2024, Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi attended the Parakram Diwas celebrations organized by the Ministry of Culture at the iconic Red Fort. During the celebrations, he also visited the exhibition, which includes archives showcasing rare photographs & documents that chronicle the inspiring journey of Neta ji.

On 21 December 2023, a delegation comprising Dr. Saif Mohammaed Obaid Binabood Albedwawi, Historian, Dr. Hammad Mohammed Junah Bin Seray Alnuaimi, Professor in History and Mr. Omar Mohmed Salim Balama Atamini, Deputy Head of Documents Security Section from the Sharjah Archives Department visited the National Archives of India and held meeting with Shri Arun Singal, IAS, Director General of Archives, New Delhi.

On the sidelines of the ongoing International Council on Archives (ICA) Congress, 2023 at Abu Dhabi, Shri Arun Singhal, Director General of Archives met Mr. Turki bin Mohammed Alshuwaier, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), King of Abdulaziz Foundation, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on 11 Oct 2023.

On 10 Oct 2023, Shri Arun Singhal, Director General of Archives met HH Lieutenant Colonel Pilot Shaikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Director of the Special Patrols Department at Abu Dhabi Police, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Arabian Horse Association, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Equestrian and Shooting Club, and General Supervisor of the Police Heritage Section

On the sidelines of the ongoing International Council on Archives (ICA) Congress, 2023 at Abu Dhabi, Shri Arun Singhal, Director General of Archives met Prof Ossama Talaat Chairman, National Library and Archives of Egypt on 11 Oct 2023 and discussed the areas of mutual interest in the area of archives.

Shri Arun Singhal, IAS, Director General of Archives and Mr. Abdulla Majid Al Ali, Director General of National Library and Archives (NLA), UAE, held a meeting on 8 October 2023 at Hotel Shangri-La, Abu Dhabi, to discuss the implementation of the provisions related to Archives, included in Executive Programme on Cultural Exchange (EPCC) between India and the United Arab Emirates.

At the invitation of the Abu Dhabi Police Museum, at Al Ain city Shri Arun Singhal, Director General of Archives, visited the said Museum on 7 October 2023 and held discussions with the Incharge of the Museum, Col. Mubarak Bashir al Mismari and his colleagues. Dr Sanjay Garg, Deputy Director of Archives, also accompanied the DG.

National Archives of India has acquired the valuable collection of late Dr.Ram Bux Singh, an internationally acclaimed scientist, who revolutionized the field of biogas technology with his groundbreaking contributions.

Hindi Fortnight was inaugurated with much fanfare at the National Archives on September 19, 2023. It was inaugurated by Director General, Mr. Arun Singhal by lighting the lamp and both regular and contractual officials participated in it. The stage was moderated by Senior Translation Officer, Mrs. Archana. This fortnight will continue till October 3, 2023. Many competitions will be organized during this period.

On 12 September 2023, Mr. Turki bin Mohammed Alshuwaier, Chief Executive Officer, King of Abdulaziz Foundation, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Mr Tatal Ibrahim A Al-Sulaim, Director, Office of the Chief Executive Officer, King Abdulaziz Foundation, Saudi Arabia visited the National Archives of India, and held meeting with Shri Arun Singal, Director General of Archives, National Archives of India, New Delhi.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the area of archival cooperation between the National Archives of India and the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was signed on 10 September 2023 at Hotel Leela Palace, New Delhi.

The concluding session of the two days 46th Meeting of the National Committee of Archivists (NCA) was concluded on the evening of 5 September 2023 at the Conference Hall of the Hotel Basant Vihar Palace, Bikaner.

Special training programme on Records Management for the Record Officers newly nominated by various Ministries/Departments of Govt. of India held at NAI Record Centre, Bhubaneswar, Odisha from 23-25 August 2023. Shri Arun Singhal, IAS, Secretary & Director General, National Archives of India had a detailed interactive session with the participants in regard to implementation of Public Records Act-1993 & Public Records Rule-1997 during the valedictory session on 25.08.2023.

On 16 August 2023, a delegation of Abu Dhabi Police Department, UAE, comprising Colonel Mubarak Bashir Al-Mismari, Lt. Colonel Hamad Sarhan Al-Sawafi, Dr. Homdon Al-Derei, accompanied with Dr(Ms) Michele Chritina Ziolkwski, Archaeologist, and met Shri Arun Singhal, Director General of Archives.

In commemoration of the ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’, the National Archives of India organized a Symposium entitled ‘Remembering Partition’ on 14 August 2023, at the National Archives of India, New Delhi. Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Assistant Director of Archives and Dr. Manash Ranjan Mishra, Assistant Director of Archives, (I/c) presented a paper entitled “Lahore Shed: An Unexplored Repository of Records of the Victims of Partition”.

Shri Arun Singhal, IAS, Director General, National Archives of India delivered Keynote address at the Panel, Why We Must Preserve?: Archiving & Oral Histories on the 2nd day of the Festival of Libraries, New Delhi.

Shri Arun Singhal, IAS, Director General, National Archives of India visited Record Centre, Jaipur, NAI on 01 August 2023. He interacted with the staff members of this office and visited the Stack Area and also inspect the work of on-going project on Conservation and Preparation of References Media (Records in Gujarati language).

A group of Students from various institutions like IITs, IIMs, Parul University etc. under the aegis of "छात्र संसद" visited National Archives of India on 27/06/2023 to see the ongoing Exhibition "हमारी भाषा:हमारी विरासत".

The 46th meeting of the National Committee of Archivists was stated in Bikaner on 4 September 2023 at the Conference Hall of the Hotel Basant Vihar Palace, Bikener.

130th Foundation Day of National Archives of India, 11 March 2020

Fourth session of ‘Archives Reads’, book reading series from publications based on records in National Archives of India was held at NAI on 12 March 2020. Prof Jan Lucassen, Honorary Research Fellow, International Institute of Social History, Amsterdam spoke on his proposed book, “Money for the Masses: Copper coin production, circulation and its usage by wage labourers in India, 1500-1900”
