National Archives of India is one of the participating Institutes under the Scheme of Tagore Fellowship for Cultural Research of the Ministry of Culture. The Scheme has been introduced in order to invigorate and revitalize the various institutions under the Ministry of Culture (MoC) and other identified cultural institutions in the country, by encouraging scholars/ academicians to affiliate themselves with these institutions to work on projects of mutual interest. With a view to infuse fresh knowledge capital into the institutions, the scheme expects these scholars/academicians to select specific resources of the institutions to take up projects and research work that are related to the main objectives of these institutions and to enrich them with a new creative edge and academic excellence.
The Ministry of Culture, GOI invited nominations/applications for the award of Fellowships and Scholarships in the Scheme component of Tagore National Fellowship for Cultural Research (TNFCR). The scheme has two categories of Awards (1) ‘Tagore National Fellows’ and (2) ‘Tagore Research Scholars’. Under the 1st category, selected candidates will be paid an honorarium of Rs. 80,000/- per month. The selected candidates of the 2nd category will be paid an honorarium of up to Rs. 50,000/- per month. NMML is the nodal agency of the Tagore fellowship
The duty of the Institution Level Search-cum-Screening Committee (ILSSC) of NAI is to shortlist the applications for Tagore National Fellows and Tagore Research Scholars and send the list of shortlisted candidates along with their applications, CV, and write-ups to Nehru Memorial Museum and Library for consideration in the meeting of the National Selection Committee (NSC).
